The U.S. News & World Report published a list of the top historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the United States for 2019. They use a strict set of criteria to determine which colleges and universities will make their list.
Based on their rankings, we've compiled a list of the top 20 HBCUs.
Oh and for the purpose of this article, 4-year HBCUs are HBCUs that are legally authorized to offer and offering at least a 4-year program of college-level studies entirely or mostly creditable toward a bachelor’s degree. Also, a university is a postsecondary institution that typically includes one or more graduate professional schools.
